Ingredients
  

Bruschetta Topping
  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes diced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar optional
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
Bread
  • 1 loaf French baguette sliced

Method
 

Prepare the Topping
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  2. Gently mix until well combined and set aside to let the flavors meld.
Toast the Bread
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the sliced baguette on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
  3. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.
Assemble the Bruschetta
  1. Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  2. Top each slice with the tomato mixture.
  3. Serve immediately while the bread is still warm.

Notes
