Prepare the Brownie Base
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract, cocoa powder, flour, and salt until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Prepare the Pecan Topping
- In a separate bowl, mix together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Stir in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
- Pour the pecan mixture over the brownie batter in the baking pan.
Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
