Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons Earl Grey tea leaves finely crushed
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Optional Toppings
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon milk for icing

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and crushed Earl Grey tea leaves.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Bake the Cookies
  1. Using a cookie scoop, drop dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Optional Icing
  1. If desired, mix powdered sugar with milk to create a smooth icing.
  2. Drizzle over cooled cookies and let set before serving.
