Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour plus more for dusting
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk warm
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Filling
  • 1/2 cup almond paste
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds for topping
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add flour and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
Make the Filling
  1. In a bowl, mix almond paste, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Assemble the Rolls
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  2. Spread the almond filling evenly over the dough. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
  3. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 8 equal pieces. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the Rolls
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Prepare the Glaze
  1. In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract until smooth.
Finish and Serve
  1. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls and serve immediately.
