Ingredients
  

Tomato Mixture
  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes diced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper to taste
Bread
  • 1 loaf French baguette sliced

Method
 

Prepare the Tomato Mixture
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside to allow flavors to meld for about 10 minutes.
Toast the Bread
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the sliced baguette on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes or until golden brown.
Assemble the Bruschetta
  1. Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let cool slightly. Top each slice with the tomato mixture and serve immediately.

Notes
