Method
Prepare the Beef
- Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain and marinate it in soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper for 10 minutes.
Cook the Beef
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
Stir-fry the Vegetables
- In the same wok, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced onion. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for an additional 3 minutes until tender-crisp.
Combine and Serve
- Return the beef to the wok. Add oyster sauce, beef broth, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles.
