Ingredients
  

Beef
  • 1 pound flank steak sliced thinly against the grain
Vegetables
  • 4 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch ginger grated
Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce low sodium
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch for thickening
  • 1 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil for flavor
Oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for cooking

Method
 

Prepare the Beef
  1. Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain and marinate in soy sauce and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok over high heat.
Cook the Beef
  1. Add the marinated beef to the wok and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
Stir-fry the Vegetables
  1. In the same wok, add another tablespoon of oil, then add garlic, ginger, and onion. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  2. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
Combine and Serve
  1. Return the beef to the wok, add oyster sauce, beef broth, and sesame oil. Stir well and cook for another 2 minutes until heated through.
  2. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or sliced chili peppers during the stir-fry.
