  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin spice mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for brûlée topping)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla paste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out the pie crust into your pie dish and prick the bottom with a fork. Bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Add pumpkin puree, eggs, sweetened condensed milk, pumpkin spice mix, and grated orange peel. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the filling into the pre-baked crust and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes until set but slightly wobbly in the center.
  4. For the brûlée topping, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla paste in a bowl. Once cooled, pour over baked pie filling.
  5. Sprinkle sugar evenly over the top and caramelize using a kitchen torch or broiler until crispy.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving and garnish with freshly grated nutmeg, orange zest, and mint leaves.
