  • ½ tsp grated nutmeg

  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp white sugar
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup porridge oats
  • 125 g cold butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/375F.
  2. Peel, core, and chop the apples into bite-sized pieces. Place them in a baking pan and toss with flour, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  3. In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, cold butter, and salt until crumbly.
  4. Spread the topping evenly over the apple mixture.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the topping is crispy and golden.
