Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked al dente
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the meat sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add diced onion and sauté until soft. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute. Mix in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper; simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Make the béchamel: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour for 1–2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk; cook until thickened (about 5 minutes). Stir in Parmesan cheese and garlic powder; season with salt and pepper.
  3. Assemble: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish; add cooked noodles followed by béchamel sauce and cheeses. Repeat layers, finishing with cheese on top.
  4. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until cheese is golden brown. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
