  • 16 cups dry bread cubes (about 3 large loaves of bread)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups onion (1/2" diced)
  • 2 cups celery (1/2" diced)
  • 3 teaspoons poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1½ cups chicken broth
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread dry bread cubes on a baking sheet and toast for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced onions and celery; sauté until soft and translucent (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine toasted bread cubes with sautéed vegetables. Add poultry seasoning, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  4. Pour in chicken broth while stirring gently. Beat eggs in a separate bowl and add them to the mixture as well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes until golden brown on top.
