  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 teaspoon fresh thyme)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Fresh thyme sprigs (for garnish)
  • Extra Parmesan cheese (for topping)
  • Crispy fried onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sauté thinly sliced onions in butter and olive oil over medium heat until golden brown and caramelized (about 20-25 minutes).
  2. Slice Yukon Gold potatoes into ¼-inch rounds.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
  4. Layer half of the potato slices, half of the onions, and half of the cheeses. Repeat the layers and pour in the broth mixed with cream.
