  • 1 21oz can apple pie filling
  • 4 medium apples (peeled, cored, and chopped or sliced)
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (plus 1 teaspoon)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 package refrigerated cinnamon rolls with frosting

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine chopped apples, sugar, 3 tablespoons of water, butter, and cinnamon. Cook over medium heat until apples soften.
  2. Stir in cornstarch mixed with 1 teaspoon of water until thickened. Remove from heat.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Unroll the refrigerated cinnamon rolls into one sheet in a pie dish. Spread half of the apple mixture over the dough.
  5. Roll the remaining dough into a spiral on top of the filling. Finish by topping with the rest of the apple mixture.
  6. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Drizzle with icing while warm.
