  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tbsp instant dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Warm milk until lukewarm. In a large bowl, mix warm milk with softened butter, eggs, yeast, sugar, and salt until combined. Gradually add bread flour to form a soft dough.
  2. Knead gently for about 8-10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  3. Prepare the filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  4. After the dough rises, punch it down and roll into a rectangle. Spread the filling evenly over the dough and roll tightly into a log. Cut into pieces and twist each piece before placing on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Brush tops with beaten egg and let rise again for 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Cool slightly before serving and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
