  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 4 ½5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ cup mashed banana
  • Filling: 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, ½ cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon cinnamon, 2 sliced bananas
  • Frosting: ¼ cup heavy cream, 4 ounces cream cheese, 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, 1½ cups powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm milk and combine it with melted butter, sugar, salt, and mashed banana in a large bowl.
  2. Stir in instant yeast followed by flour; mix until combined. Knead until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about an hour until doubled.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread soft butter on top and sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and sliced bananas.
  5. Roll tightly into a log and cut into approximately twelve pieces. Place in a greased baking dish.
  6. Allow rolls to rise again for about 30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 35 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Prepare frosting by mixing softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and just enough cream for spreadability.
