  • 1 1/2 tablespoons white sugar

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 stick of softened butter
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of apples (diced into small pieces)
  • 1 1/4 cups of flour
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt for the crumb topping. Cut in cold butter until crumbly; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon together.
  4. In a large bowl, combine milk, softened butter, sour cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in diced apples gently.
  7. Line muffin tins with liners and fill each almost to the top with batter.
  8. Sprinkle crumb topping generously over each muffin.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
